Kadisyn's Jammin' Monster Jam 2nd Birthday!

I gave him the choice between Cookie Monster, or Monster Jam. He chose Monster Jam. So needless to say, since I have an obsession about doing themes that aren't really popular like Cars and Toy Story, I was really excited to get to do something new and different. I began immediately browsing different ideas from sites and trying to come up with my own way to do them.

So, my first thing was, since he was so small I made him a shirt. Then, I decided to make all children attendents shirts/onesies. The boys got green trucks with thier names in the metal, girls got pink.

The image I designed and used heat transfer to make the shirts.

For the invitations, I seen a lot of people used actual ticket ideas for them. I generally used that same concept, pnly I made it with his favorite monster truck, used a barcode I made. And used the park name as a stadium, "Christina Park Arena". I then used the month of April (4) as the section. The date (23) for the row and the year (11) for the seat number. I laminated them and put them on laynards. (Guest wearing it..as I had everyone wear them that was part of the show)

In the treat bags for the kids, I included a monster truck craft that you paint and assemble. It's a pull and go (purchased at Michael's for 1.00 each) their shirts, and a custom monster truck tire with their name on it.
I designed the pin the tire on the truck game, and laminated it all so we could keep it as decoration later. Next to it is a blown up version of his invitation for everyone to sign.
I also found a website where you can personalize banners and signs, I used the layout for that and inserted a photo of the birthday boy and had it printed and laminated and used as a banner.
I also purchased him a Grave Digger Pinata, (Oriental Trading) and everyone seemed to love it, and the kids enjoyed it. (It was extremely hard to break. My husband had to step on it and tear it apart to get one of the kids to be able to even dent it. Worth the 17.00)
Unfortunately, the birthday boy wasn't even the star of the show. People from all over the park continued to flood around us. They were all amazed by the cake my husband and I made for Kadisyn. Complete with jumps, and obsticals..just like a real Monster Jam show. His cake batter was colored black and lime green with vanilla flavor with buttercream icing. I used crushed graham crackers for dirt, and blue piping gel as water in the center jump. I had to use 4 11x15 cakes. I had to transport it in the back of my parents' Avalanche. It was too large to fit into anything else.

For food, we had CiCi's Pizza and had juice and soda for drinks. It went over really well. I knew after this successful party, that I had definately found my calling. I can honestly say I believe he had a really good time with his friends and family at his Monster Jam birthday party.
More coming soon. *Date of event: April 23, 2011*
